SuitingHow to choose
Suiting
Suiting is read by its yarn count — the Super 110s to 180s on the selvedge. The higher the number, the finer the fibre, the softer and more lustrous the cloth, and the more readily it creases.
For a suit worn several times a week, Super 110s to 130s stays the most balanced choice. Keep the higher counts for occasion wear.
Shirting
Shirting is judged on three things: weave, weight and finish. Poplin is smooth and formal, and sits better under a jacket. Oxford has a coarser weave and suits a shirt worn open. Twill carries a slight sheen and creases less.
Coating
Coating is chosen on weight, not on fineness. A wool and cashmere blend is warmer and lighter but wears through sooner; pure wool lasts longer.
The process
Cut length in three steps
